Born in Istanbul in 1987 and based in Amsterdam, Murat Burhanoğlu explores the intuitive connection between human beings and nature through monochromatic blue landscapes and bird figures. His compositions evoke a sense of stillness and movement at once, where blue becomes a symbol of both depth and continuity.
The selection of 12 recent works on view reflects the artist’s ongoing exploration of landscape as a space of transformation. Through water, light, and gesture, Burhanoğlu captures an inner equilibrium, a sensory harmony between body and nature, often embodied in the cyclical flight of birds.
Founded in Istanbul in 2016, Ambidexter Gallery is an independent space that provides a platform for experimental and conceptual practices in contemporary art. Following Burhanoğlu’s solo exhibitions Black Sun (2019) and Order of the House (2023), Birds of a Feather brings the artist’s poetic universe to Paris.
