Tom Fellows

Tom Fellows was born near Birmingham, UK in 1983; the son of an artist and traditional signpainter. Having studied Sculpture at the University of Gloucestershire in 2001, he undertook an internship at the Headlands Center for the Arts before studying architecture in Nottingham. In 2010, Fellows moved to Istanbul and resumed his artistic practice in Maslak Oto Sanayi. He has since shown in multiple group shows and art fairs and in 2019, he exhibited his first solo show in Istanbul.

Through an inherently destructive process, his work examines the effects of deep time; the gradual unrelenting geological forces exerted through deposition, compression and erosion. He simulates those mechanisms in his studio using materials often charged with their own latent idiosyncrasies.
